I was on my states secretary of state website looking up voter information for this upcoming election and noticed something odd. Under the “find your poll location for the election” section, all you have to do is type in your name, city, and birthdate to find out your voter info. It does not show any personal info, however it does show what your political party affiliation is if you have one. Is your politcal party affiliation considered public records? The reason I ask is because anyone who wants to could log on and type in your name, city, and birthday and find out what your political party affiliation is.

Are public records pertaining to Bankruptcy laws permanent?

I already know that the credit companies no longer report about it after 10 years but I wanted to know about the public records made by the court of law.

After 10 years, can credit card companies (or who else, do you know?) access the public records and not the credit report.

Also I heard that things like social security numbers attached to bankruptcy cases are made public in the public record is this true?

NO FUNNY COMMENTS ABOUT FINANCIAL MISHANDLING – I have had a string of bad luck (illness, taking care of family) and been therefore unable to handle it all.

Any helpful responses are appreciated.
